Michael is a native Texan who received both undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of Texas. He began his mortgage banking career in 1986 with Lumbermen’s Investment Corporation (LIC), where he led their Secondary Marketing group. He later created and led the Consumer Direct Division for LIC successor, Guaranty Residential Lending.

Michael’s diverse background and unique knowledge of the fixed income capital markets enables him to educate his clients so they can make better-informed decisions. He strives to serve all stakeholders with mutually-beneficial solutions, and outperform his competitors

He and his wife Carroll are blessed with four active sons Preston, Jonathan and the twins – Davis and Andrew. While he stays busy with his family he still manages to sneak in a round of golf from time to time. When not coaching/watching one of his boys playing a sport he loves to golf, hunt and find time to catch a game or two of Longhorn sports. He also believes that is important to contribute to the profession he is a part of. To that end, for well over two decades he has participated in the Austin Mortgage Bankers Association (AMBA) and has had the honor of leading this organization as past President in both 2012 and 2013. He remains active in the industry and recently completed a term on the Mortgage Industry Advisory Committee (MIAC) for the Texas Department of Savings & Mortgage Lending.
